Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven or air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  2. If using fresh green beans, wash, cut, and blanch for 2 minutes. Drain and transfer to cold water. If using canned beans, drain and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, combine cream of mushroom soup with milk, stirring until smooth. Add soy sauce.
  4. Fold in prepared green beans and 2/3 of the crispy fried onions. Sprinkle with pepper.
  5. Pour mixture into casserole dish and spread evenly. Smooth the top with a spatula.
  6. Bake in the oven for 25 minutes, stir, top with remaining onions, and bake for an additional 5 minutes. If using an air fryer, cook for 10 minutes, stir halfway, then add onions for another 2-3 minutes.
  7. Check that the center is hot and bubbly, then allow to cool slightly before serving.
