Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook ground beef and chopped yellow onion in a skillet over medium-high heat for about 10 minutes until browned.
  3. Add minced garlic and sauté for another minute. Drain any excess fat.
  4. Stir in tomato sauce and Italian seasoning, simmer for 5 minutes, seasoning with salt and pepper.
  5. Cook egg noodles as per package instructions until al dente; drain and set aside.
  6. In a mixing bowl, combine drained egg noodles, sour cream, and cottage cheese; mix gently.
  7. Layer half the noodle mixture in the baking dish, top with half the meat sauce, repeat, finishing with meat sauce.
  8. Sprinkle grated cheddar cheese on top and bake for 30 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Let cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
