Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Gather your baking tools: mixing bowl, whisk, cupcake liners, and cupcake pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
  3. Add sugar, oil, and sangria to the dry ingredients. Mix until the batter is smooth.
  4. Line a cupcake pan with cupcake liners and fill each liner about two-thirds full with batter.
  5. Bake for 17-20 minutes, until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  6. While cupcakes bake, beat vegan butter, then gradually add powdered sugar and sangria reduction. Beat until fluffy.
  7. Once cooled, frost each cupcake with sangria buttercream frosting using a piping bag or spatula.
