  • 1 tsp Dried Sage Essential for holiday flavors. Use 3 tsp fresh sage.
  • 1 tsp Dried Thyme Try herbs de Provence for a unique twist.
  • 0.25 tsp Ground Black Pepper Adjust to taste.
  • 0.25 tsp Salt Season based on the saltiness of the sausage.
Pastry
  • 1 sheet Puff Pastry Thawed.
  • 1 Egg Beaten; use a milk wash as a dairy-free option.
For Sautéing
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil Can substitute with butter.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté the onion and garlic for 3-4 minutes until soft.
  3. Mix in sausage meat, sage, thyme, salt, and pepper until thoroughly combined.
  4. Roll out the puff pastry until about 1/8 inch thick and slice into rectangles (5 inches by 4 inches).
  5. Place sausage filling on one edge of the pastry, fold over, and seal the edges with a fork.
  6. Slice rolls into 3-4 inch portions and brush with beaten egg.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and flaky.
  8. Let cool on a wire rack before serving.
