- Cut the vanilla or pound cake into 1-inch cubes and let them dry out slightly.
- In mini trifle glasses, layer the cake cubes at the bottom.
- Add a layer of vanilla custard over the cake cubes.

- Repeat the layering process until the cups are filled.
