- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente, around 8-10 minutes. Reserve about one cup of pasta water before draining.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add sliced zucchini to the skillet and sauté for approximately 5-7 minutes until soft and lightly golden.
- Gently toss in the drained spaghetti with the sautéed garlic and zucchini. Gradually add reserved pasta water to create a creamy sauce.
- Stir in grated Pecorino Romano cheese and fresh basil leaves. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Plate the spaghetti, garnishing with additional cheese and fresh basil. Serve hot.
