  • 2 tablespoons Cornstarch mixed with water to thicken

  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract (optional)

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Peel, core, and slice 6–8 firm tart apples into ½-inch thick wedges. Toss with lemon juice.
  2. Whisk together brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a bowl and set aside.
  3. Grease the slow cooker, layer half of the apples, then half of the sugar mixture. Repeat and add butter on top.
  4. Drizzle with lemon juice and vanilla extract.
  5. Cover and cook on LOW for 3–4 hours. Stir halfway through to ensure even cooking.
  6. Mix cornstarch with cold water and add to the slow cooker in the last 30 minutes.
  7. Serve warm alone, over pancakes, or with ice cream.
