Ingredients
  

For the Burger Patties
  • 1 pound Ground Turkey Use lean, 90% ground turkey
  • 1 cup Pepper Jack Cheese Can substitute with Cheddar
  • 1 can Diced Green Chiles Use mild or hot to control heat
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cumin Can use chili powder for variation
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder Fresh garlic can be used, adjust to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper Optional for added heat
  • 1 teaspoon Kosher Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Vegetable Oil Can substitute with canola oil
For the Guacamole
  • 1 medium Avocado Greek yogurt can be used as a substitute
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice
  • 1 tablespoon Lime Juice
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Cilantro Optional, can substitute with parsley
For Serving
  • 4 buns Toasted Burger Buns Use gluten-free if required
  • 1 leaf Lettuce Choose your favorite variety

Method
 

Cooking Instructions
  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat, around 500°F (260°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground turkey, pepper jack cheese, diced green chiles, cumin, garlic powder, cayenne pepper (if using), kosher salt, and black pepper. Mix gently and form into four patties.
  3. Place the patties on a plate and chill in the freezer for 20 minutes.
  4. In a medium bowl, mash avocado, lemon juice, lime juice, and salt until desired consistency is reached. Add cilantro if desired.
  5. Brush grill grates with vegetable oil and grill patties for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and cheese is melted.
  6. Toast burger buns on the grill for about 1-2 minutes, then assemble by placing each patty on a bun, adding guacamole and lettuce.

Notes
